Monday night, March 16, 2020, the decision was made by the deacon board to suspend all gatherings at the church until April 1st.

This decision is subject to review and change as the situation further develops. For now, there will be no Sunday worship service and no midweek gatherings at the church. The plan at this point is to Launch the “Empowered to Share” small group on April 1, and to begin gathering for worship again on April 5.

As your pastor, I am praying and looking into ways to best shepherd the church largely in a digital and remote format. Utilizing online technology and the good old fashioned phone, we, the church, will make a concerted effort to stay connected through this time.

Even though we are not gathering, I encourage you all to find ways to connect through social media and other means. For Facebook, make sure you are connected to Calvary Crystal Lake and the individual ministry pages.

Staying connected will allow us to be the church as it was in the early chapters of Acts. The people of God shared what they had so that no one had need. Calvary and its congregation will be here for each other. We will also do our best to minister to our neighbors durning this time. We can’t help everybody, but we can help our neighbors.

Briefly: On Giving
As you are able, please be faithful in giving. You can mail in checks, give online through the website, or TEXT to give. I believe this season will require a shared sacrifice for all of us. The deacons are aware of the financial realities in our community and are praying for God’s provision and wisdom in budget adjustments as we go through this season.
